Hypnosis at Uncommon Practice

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an altered state of mind where we can gain access to the subconscious
Hypnosis is only a word that describes what could also be termed as a trance, daydreaming, meditation or simply deep relaxation
It's that moment when you are daydreaming, maybe on a car journey and you wake with a jolt not recalling the last few minutes, it's that moment just before you go to sleep at night. It's a deep state of relaxation that we rarely get into in our busy day to day lives
We all drift in and out of different levels Hypnosis everyday
During Hypnosis the therapist will guide your mind positively whilst in this deep state of relaxation

How Does Hypnosis Work?

Your mind consists of two parts the conscious and the sub conscious
During a session whilst you are in a deeply relaxed state, positive suggestions will be made to your sub conscious mind
The sub conscious is receptive to these suggestions whilst in this relaxed state
Positive suggestions can re programme the mind
Years of negative behaviour can be overcome and effective change can take place

What Happens in an Hypnosis Session?
I want you to feel comfortable and relax, we will discuss the problem(s) in detail and I will take notes that are totally confidential to my practice
We will then agree on a strategy to resolve your problem(s) talking about the options open to you and I will take time to explain how the therapy will work
Once I have established that you are comfortable we will then progress with the session, you will be guided into a deep state of relaxation, my voice will guide you, deeper and deeper into relaxation
During this time depending on the agreed strategy, positive suggestions will be made or questions may be asked of your sub conscious mind, there are usually so many options open to use as each and everyone of us are so different as individuals
Hypnosis can be the most wonderful relaxing feeling
Sometimes it is appropriate to set 'goals' or listen to a tape between sessions, again everyone is different.
